Junior AP Accountant (Temp-to-hire)
Location: Irvine, CA
Salary: 28-32/hr DOE
We are seeking a Junior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will support full-cycle Accounts Payable (60%) and month-end close activities (40%), including account reconciliations and journal entries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with some manual processes.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (60%)
- Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable processing.
- Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices.
- Process vendor payments and reconcile vendor statements.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
- Assist with AP accruals and reporting.
General Accounting & Month-End Close (40%)
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end close activities.
- Prepare reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
- Support audits and ad hoc accounting projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, including Accounts Payable.
- Experience with full-cycle AP and 3-way matching required.
- Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a manual or evolving accounting environment and identifying process improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
